Kate Woods

Founder, Doula Educator

Kate has is an accredited Doula, Mentor and Educator with 30 years experience in the field. and is an advocate for dignified birth and a passionate activist for human rights in the perinatal year.

 

Kate's passion for this work lead her to found the voluntary Doula organisation,  Doulas Without Borders, from where this project was launched. Kate is a facilitator on the Mother Tongue training.

Mira Waligóra

Translation Educator, Midwife

Mira is a newly qualified midwife and experienced public service interpreter based in Scotland.

 

She speaks Polish, English, French and Finnish, and is passionate about improving equity in maternity care for migrant and multilingual families. Her work focuses on interpreter-mediated communication, inclusive education and culturally responsive care, supporting women and birthing people to feel heard, informed and respected throughout their maternity journey. Mira is a facilitator on the Mother Tongue training.

Amina Hatia

 Educator & Board member

Amina is a midwife working currently in both the NHS and charity sector, having been involved in midwifery care since 2005. 

Amina is a passionate advocate for women and families achieving the best birth experience for them, using knowledge and empowerment gained from women-centred education, support and care, believing that the core of midwifery is embedded in kindness and support. Amina faciltates on the Mother Tongue training.
